"Men give me credit for some genius. All the genius I have lies in this; when I have a subject in hand, I study it profoundly. Day and night it is before me. My mind becomes pervaded with it. Then the effort that I have made is what people are pleased to call the fruit of genius. It is the fruit of labor and thought."

18 May, 2005 - "Compassionate Arguement"

"Observe good faith and justice toward all nations. Cultivate peace and harmony with all."
-- President George Washington

Libertarian Michael Badnarik stated that in America its GOOD TO BE KING! Badnarik means this in the context that before the American revolution the king owned everything. After that America became a place where most men could own themselves and property, hence be there own kings. Over the past 229 years all men and women can now have that opportunity (though the government is more like the one Washington fought against now). Yes I wholeheartedly agree with Badnarik it is "Good to be King!", but will further it as a personal statement via me as an individual by saying I rule the country of my mind and the kingdom of my life. It also helps that I use non-violent communication and implement various personal methods of Satyagraha as a way of life.

Many people though do not practice such as Marshall Rosenberg would suggest they speak in the metaphor he uses as Jackal-speak:

At an early age, most of us were taught to speak and think Jackal. This language is from the head. It is a way of mentally classifying people into varying shades of good and bad, right and wrong. Ultimately it provokes defensiveness, resistance and counterattack. Giraffe bids us to speak from the heart, to talk about what is going on for us - without judging others. In this idiom, you give people an opportunity to say yes, although you respect no for an answer. Giraffe is a language of requests; Jackal is a language of demands. Human beings the world over say they want to contribute to the well-being of others, to connect and communicate with others in loving, compassionate ways. Why then, is there so much disharmony and conflict? Setting out to find answers, I discovered that the language many of us were taught interferes with our desire to live in harmony with one another. At an early age, most of us were taught to speak and think jackal. This is a moralistic classification idiom that labels people; it has a splendid vocabulary for analyzing and criticizing. Jackal is good for telling people what's wrong with them:

"Obviously, you're emotionally disturbed (rude, lazy, selfish)."The jackal moves close to the ground. It is so preoccupied with getting its immediate needs met that it cannot see into the future. Similarly, Jackal-thinking individuals believe that in quickly classifying or analyzing people, they understand them. Unhappy about what's going on, a Jackal will label the people involved, saying, "He's an idiot" or "She's bad" or "They're culturally deprived." This language is from the head. It is a way of mentally classifying people into varying shades of good and bad, right and wrong. Ultimately, it provokes defensiveness, resistance, and counterattack.

Those that fit the metaphor of the Jackal communicate and act with an authoritarian point of view which does not hold complete empathy and respect for that of the individual.

In the news has been the United States government abuse of individual rights again and again. TIME magazine has come under strong criticism for publishing a story about how through a possible confirmation that US interrogators destroyed the Koran in trying to psychologically break so-called enemy combatants. This and many other actions have taken place and been acknowledged as has that much of humanity in the US government existing authorities does not view them as having rights at all in any manner whatsoever. The only acknowledged rights are those of American citizens who rights are given to them by the state and can be taken away at anytime.

What I just described is happening now and this violent assault on humanity is an assault on every human being alive. For a crime committed against another human is one against all humanity. As an American I do not support such evil and I do believe that supporting such is evil and therefore will not support overall the current actions of the American government on a whole. I feel it is my duty as a human being to do good and the spread of violence is ignorance hate and violence is such. The US government has openly committed itself to such not only under President Bush, but under almost every President. Yes mankind is violent and evil but I wont support any state that condones such violence toward not only humanity but to the Earth itself.

This journal is named after Alexander Hamilton, a leading founder of the USA, as well as abolitionist, and well understood the rights of man. Today there is a lack of understanding and implement of those ideals which planted the seed of greatness for which the positive nature of America holds true. I personally advocate for a revolution but not one in what many would think. A revolution is a return to the center point and I do suggest that, one which returns us to that of Constitutional law, which has largely been abandoned. The law itself is only used now to be disrespected raped and abused by demagogues and those with money to manipulate their fellow humanity. Bribery is a way of life in Washington DC including by foreign governments and its openly acknowledged instead of being called what it actually is, treason. Only on the grounds of this do I advocate revolution, not in repeal of the great advances made of the past 229 years. Furthermore I say this in meaning action carried about by nonviolence. President John F Kennedy stated that Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable. It a personal goal of mine that violent revolution does not take place, as violence is truly the enemy of humanity.

"Non-cooperation with evil is as much a duty as is cooperation with good."
-- Mohandas K. Gandhi

I believe through nonviolent commuinication, a form of arguement, which is afterall the language of humanity, peaceful change can be brought about. Though like Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jr., Aung Sawn Suu Kyi and those who follow in the path on nonviolent civil disobedience is a form of argument as well. While these individuals are highly praised they would be arrested by every government on Earth today for the methods they fought nonviolently for, including the superpower USA. The time for truth is now, and that truth is doing what is just and good. To make the system of law work for our fellow humanity it is time for the fourth power to take its rightful place, that being We the people in the American system of checks and balances. It is the personal responsibility of all Americans to maintain order not the government. That is what has occurred now with the growing authoritarian state that has taken over the US government since the debates between Alexander Hamilton and Patrick Henry in the 1790s. It is not just a lack of leadership but a lack of showing of responsibility, a lack of action! When such occurrs, especially in relation to human rights they are lost and given up for when no one speaks up. Without proper argument, without ACTION they vanish.

I've thought about two statements by Gandhi that have really gone through my mind countless times:

This is in essence the principle of nonviolent non-cooperation. It follows therefor that it must have its root in love. Its object should not be to punish the opponent or to inflict injury upon him. Even whilen on-cooperating with him, we must make him feel that in us he has a friend and we should try to reach his heart by rendering him humanitarian service whenever possible.

That quote really reflects my own personal philosophy.

"The real test of nonviolence lies in its being brought in contact with those who have contempt for it."

That quote entales where I feel we as a society are right now and it my goal to implement it and help bring about a decrease of violence in my world. That has already started, begining with an inward journey within myself.

Another diarist Eowyn86 asked me to list the following, that of my ten favorite things. I have three lists in mind and one is quite philosophical and will be written at a later date. I ask all readers to list there own in there own journal (and if you do please leave a comment linking me to it) or leave it in my comments section for this entry.

1. Self-education, as an acknowledged autodidact this one tops the list.

2. Georgina, although we haven't been together since 2003 I still love her.

3. Reading

4. Running and physical fitness

5. Malta, one day I will live in Gozo.

6. Mythology, theology, religions, philosophy, linguistics, and psychology

7. Political Science and American legal, political, economic history

8. Practice and action of my unique philosophy of life.

9. Art: painting, drawing, writing, photography

10. Myself, if one can not love them self, how can they love anyone else?

I will further this list with another but it has no end or beginning. The question is, Who are those individuals who most influenced your life? Since this refers to an individual human being then GOD cant be listed.

1- G, she has more influence on me than about any other, yet scarcely sees it, if any at all. Her loving compassionate heart has taught me so much about living than no words could ever describe.

2- My mother actually though the two of us have monumental differences.

3- My brothers as while I didnt use their example of life and understanding/knowledge, I did use what they had learned to see what was possible in my own life.

4-Amy, this one is a no-brainer. Tomorrow I will go take flowers to her as her birthday just passed. RIP

5- Eric, this wonderful hardworking man was far more than he appeared to be. A charmer, intelligent and had such an incredible grasp on life. RIP

6- JB, my uncle who has a high level of ethical conduct. I think highly of him and hope we can see more of one another before time runs out as he is elderly.

7- JK, a surprising friendship that came about in the shadow of Amys death. Though it seems more like the sunlight it sprang from with Jeff whom I consider one of my closest friends.

8- An old man whom I grew up with and was like a grandfather to me. We talked about religion, science, ethics, health, life, action, argument, politics, history, and people.

9& 10 will add these later
