I am moving and with the housing shortage of New Orleans it is quite difficult a major housing crisis after Katrina. The homes that are available to be leased or rented have doubled and in some cases quadrupled in price.

While for anyone working class one may see that a cashier at a local establishment that before Katrina would be paid minium wage $5.15 and now would be offered $8.50-$10.00. Having pay increases by 25%-50% may seem alright, but not when the cost of living has gone up by 75-200%. All landlords also are requiring longterm leases and truly don't care about how anyone is doing.

Business is business but this has been a horrific experience for so many and for people to not be helping others shows how bad things are actually. That is the outcome after Katrina, that New Orleans is still an unfriendly greedy place without any value whatsoever in the hearts of the people here. As I have maintained for many years it is the asshole of the world and shits on everyone.

A healthy society starts with a healthy individual and New orleans has few of those. Instead it is unhealthy and will make anyone with a good heart sick. My point being is that while this area is profane , I am not going to suffer over it, though I do observe what is going on around me and feel it is best that I leave for better surroundings. Till then I shall be a light unto myself in this literal hell on Earth.

How does one find good people in Louisiana? Simply find a foreigner! I believe I may have located a room to stay.

I rested this morning as I have to move by myself without any help. That means moving all my furniture too and I live on the third floor here (no elevator, just a stairs). I have helped my friends and family since katrina and been kind and gracious at my own expense. Now none will help me in any way at all. Is it any wonder I require reciprocal dialogue?

What about the writer here, how is he doing? He is doing well enough in a dark sickly environment.
